A cultural keystone
Pounded taro or cocoyam is paired with richly spiced yellow or black soup. Its preparation, utensils and sharing traditions carry knowledge between generations.

The beloved green
Garden huckleberry leaves are cooked and sautéed, then commonly served with corn fufu—a pairing closely associated with the North West.

Fuel of the highlands
Maize has long been grown across Cameroon's western highlands and remains a staple transformed into fufu, pap and roasted or boiled corn.
A living cultural landscape
From Mankon's Great Hut to the forests of Mount Oku
Mankon's traditional Great Hut appears within Cameroon's UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List for Grassfields chiefdoms. Farther into the highlands, Mount Oku protects rare montane habitats through long-running community conservation.

Who qualifies as a full member?
A person from the North West Region of Cameroon, someone with at least one parent from the region, or someone who can clearly trace family or ancestral roots there.
Can friends and spouses join?
Yes. Supporters of NIB’s mission may be welcomed as associate members, subject to approval. Associate members do not have voting rights in the General Assembly.
Are welfare and loan benefits guaranteed?
No. These schemes are proposals and can operate only after members adopt clear rules. Any support would depend on eligibility, contributions, approvals and available funds.
How does NIB make decisions?
The General Assembly is the highest decision-making body. Full members have one vote, while an elected board manages the association between assemblies.
